Golden Oldies

To keep us entertained for about half of the mini road trip to Iowa City last week, Jake and I each made a playlist to share. The theme was "oldies" and was defined as anything you'd potentially hear on an oldies radio station.

I had so much fun making this playlist and had even more fun listening to it. There is just something about the music from the '50's to the '70's - most of the "upbeat" songs you can't help bop around, or at least tap your toes. It's just feel good music.

Here was my playlist:

1. Think - Aretha Franklin
2. Try a Little Tenderness - Otis Redding
3. Down in the Boondocks - Billy Joe Royal
4. Shake Your Tailfeather - The Blues Brothers
5. (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher - Jackie Wilson
6. What a Wonderful World - Louis Armstrong
7. Ain't No Mountain High Enough - Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell
8. You Never Can Tell - Chuck Berry
9. The Joker - Steve Miller Band
10. Knock Three Times - Tony Orlando & Dawn
11. The Longest Time - Billy Joel
12. Joy to the World - Three Dog Night
13. Unchained Melody - The Righteous Brothers
14. Ain't Too Proud to Beg - The Temptations
15. That'll Be the Day - Buddy Holly
16. On the Road Again - Willie Nelson

  2. they were good playlists.
oldies ALWAYS make a drive go better.
i forgot to burn you a copy of my list, i'll do that tonight.
even though i think it is a stretch to put it on a golden oldies list, 'the longest time' may have been my favorite one on this list. elementary school bus-riding memories!
